After Tim Geithner’s well publicized failure to pay his taxes, it looks like another Democrat and Obama cabinet hopeful has failed to pay his taxes.

Tom Daschle pleaded his case Monday evening in a closed meeting with former Senate colleagues after publicly apologizing for failing to pay more than $120,000 in taxes. President Barack Obama said he was “absolutely” sticking with his nominee for health secretary, and a key senator added an important endorsement.

The White House both underscored the magnitude of the problem and tried to downplay it in the space of seven words. “Nobody’s perfect,” said press secretary Robert Gibbs. “It was a serious mistake. …”

Let’s look at some facts:

Democrats seem to be quick to tell you that you need to pay your taxes to pay for bloated government and ineffective bureaucracy, yet they don’t seem to think they have to pay their own taxes.

Let’s make clear one more fact:  had Daschle not been trying to get a government job, he never would have paid the taxes back that he owes.  He only paid his taxes because he was forced to file financial disclosure once he was appointed.

If it’s a powerful Democrat that doesn’t pay his taxes, he just pays whatever he owes later.  If that was you, you would have went to jail.

President Obama is showing a complete disregard for individual and personal liberty with his choices of personel for his administration.  So far, he’s appointed two men who failed to pay their taxes.  His Attorney General, Eric Holder, believes that if you have a small amount of marijuana on you, you should go to jail.  His Chief of Staff routinely curses and threatens anyone who isn’t a Democratic party loyalist.  The husband of his Secretary of State has accepted large foreign donations to his foundation that may or may not have conflicts of interest for the United States.

Barack Obama:  Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.  This should be an interesting four years.
